Lesson Number Two
·
What to wear and bring when boating.............
- Don't bring much with you, there isn't much room and it can get wet
or worse go overboard!
- Your foot wear is important, no leather soles only sneakers or soft
rubber shoes but you may have to walk in the water and on the beach so
sometimes flip flops or water puppies will do the trick.
- There is a lot o f sun all day and not much shade, bring good suntan
location. Maybe a hat is a good idea.
- A bathing suit should be worn under your clothes as you may be getting
off the boat in the water, plus the ocean is great to go in.
- A towel should be brought to lay on and maybe a second to dry off with.
- Maybe two bottles of a cold beverage should be brought as you don't
want to dehydrate. Lunch foods can spoil and it is better to buy something
at the beach.
- No jewelry or a watch should be worn as they can get spoiled or lost.
- A back strap for eye glasses is a good idea as they can fall off your
head and go over board.
- Light weight, light colored clothes should be worn over your bathing
suit.
- An inexpensive camera, maybe a throw away, can be safely brought.
- I bring a cell phone, Two way radio, GPS unit, Compass, Navagation Charts,
Flare gun, Medical Kit and other assorted gizmos.
- Life jackets for all are on board and should be worn in rough weather.
